It is both naïve and misleading to deny the serious costs involved in Israel’s unregulated relationship with impassioned evangelical Christians.
This article was written in response to “ Are Christian Zionists a Threat to Israel”, written by David Ha’Ivri on December 20, 2011.
There is no question that there are many fine, upstanding Gentiles supporting Israel at this time. While certain strategic, moral and political alliances with the non-Jewish world are to be encouraged, it is both naïve and misleading to deny the serious costs involved in Israel’s unregulated relationship with impassioned evangelical Christians.
There is a wealth of information indicating that the vast majority of evangelical organizations supporting Israel on the political, economic and humanitarian fronts are directly or indirectly involved in supporting a growing Christian messianic restoration in Israel and in missionary efforts directed at the Jewish people. This existential spiritual threat is being overlooked by Jewish leadership in both Israel and the Diaspora.
These are the facts on the ground, as reported by the Baptist Press, seven months ago (unfortunately, these statistics coincide with reports from a number of Jewish and governmental sources):
“Now there are an estimated 150 Jewish [messianic] congregations around Israel meeting in different languages. The number of believers is estimated to be around 20,000, growing exponentially from 1948 when 12 Jews who believed in Jesus could be counted, to 1987 when there were 3,000 and 1997 where there were 5,000.”–(Baptist Press, May 26, 2011)
Mr. Ha’ivri chose to diminish the concerns of those who are working in the counter-missionary field and to dismiss their investigative findings regarding growing Christian influence and infiltration in the Jewish state. A good number of the professionals and activists working in this field have, prior to returning or converting to Judaism themselves, spent years in church movements as active missionaries. These professionals now spend their days and nights bringing back Jews who have been lost to the churches or messianic Christian movements. The understanding by these professionals of the situation and of the personalities involved is hardly “shallow”, as Mr. Ha’ivri wishfully believes.
Certain Christian individuals and organizations with whom Mr. Ha’ivri chooses to work may not be aggressively proselytizing with a conversion agenda in the classical sense. However, they are on a religiously-driven mission with the intention to draw Jews close. They strive for a theological unification between Judaism and Christianity – a breaking down of barriers between faiths, as portrayed in Christian scripture. In addition, these parties are supportive of the messianic Christian sects in the Jewish state and aspire towards a Christian – not a Jewish – restoration in the Land of Israel. That makes them “missionaries” in every sense of the word.
The obvious point that evangelicals live to evangelize and that Israel has embarked on a “biblically-based” alliance with those who by definition, are missionaries, needs to be addressed in an honest fashion. Taking precautions to preserve the integrity of the Torah, the Jewish people and Eretz Yisrael is simply off the radar screen of many of our leading activists who are preoccupied with garnering political, humanitarian and economic support for the Jewish state in desperate times.
As devoted and passionate as many of these Christian leaders are in their support of Israel, it pales in comparison to their zeal and commitment to spreading the Christian message. As Pastor John Hagee explained on the missionary Daystar TV network, when they announced programming plans for Israel:
“It’s just all I can do to keep from getting up and dancing… it’s a joy and a dream come true. If we are able to preach the gospel [in Israel] without reservation … it’s a major breakthrough.” —-(Jewish Telegraphic Agency, May 18, 2006)
Torah observant leaders and activists tout pro-Israel Christian personalities around Israel as saviors, but fail to take the responsibility to effectively communicate Jewish sensitivities and limitations to these parties that are reaching out to Jews. Perhaps had Glenn Beck been given clear and unequivocal guidelines by his Jewish hosts, he would not have invited Jews to participate in an “uber-Christian” event, nor would he have featured known missionary personalities, who explicitly target Jews, at his “Restoring Courage” event this past summer in Israel.
There is reluctance on the part of rabbinic and Jewish community leadership to draw red lines or issue guidelines to govern the interfaith relationship. At the same time, Israeli legislators evade drafting effective counter-missionary legislation. It seems that nobody wants to alienate “good friends” who are not aggressively proselytizing but rather are “sharing their faith” through “outreach projects” to a very vulnerable Israeli populace.  That David Ha’ivri minimizes the spiritual threat which these missionaries present in Israel is indicative of a certain detachment from his own people, many of whom are spiritually thirsty and lacking a proper Jewish education or the means to respond to evangelical overtures.
Unfortunately, there are significant voices within the national religious camp who are naively heralding a new era in interfaith relations. Some of these people are calling for revolutionary openness and leniency in the Jewish approach to Christianity. Slapping a Jewish prophetic spin on this Christian theological fervor reeks of denial and jeopardizes the entire Jewish nation. Those who are embracing what they deem to be a “new Christianity” should keep in mind that the old Christianity is very much alive and well and operating in Israel, while the new deceptively mimics Judaism in its quest for historical Jewish roots.
Our unique commitments as Jews, and our obligation to keep a separation between faith communities, remains constant, whether the era be philo-Semitic or anti-Semitic. For even had Christians had been kind to us for two millennia, their fundamental beliefs would remain no less forbidden to us. Judaism clearly demands us to remember that, certainly for the Jew, Christianity (the belief in Jesus as lord and savior) is an irrefutable form of idolatry. The Torah’s prohibition against and rejection of idolatry is at the very core of Judaism.
If Israel is charged with being “a light unto the nations”, our leaders should not be in the business of assisting Christian pastors and ministers in perpetuating their doctrine. As Jews, it is our job and responsibility not to compromise, adapt or reconcile our beliefs in a way that could, G-d forbid, lead to spiritual assimilation. We should not be providing devout Christians with the tools to carve a more refined and polished image of their false lord and savior. And yet a steady parade of high-profile rabbis and political and community leaders are now regularly gracing numerous messianic “Hebraic Roots” Christian churches and ministries which are dedicated to “demonstrating Jesus’ centrality to Judaism and his inclusion in the Torah”. Nor should Jewish rabbis and leaders be hosting activities with those believers in Jesus who consider themselves part of the 10 lost tribes of Israel, with entitlement to equal inheritance of the Holy Land.  It is a mistake to believe that we Jews can teach gentiles Torah in a messianic Christian setting. These congregations are absolutely christ-centered. Everything they garner from Judaism is used to solely enhance their own belief system.
David Ha’ivri’s appearance two weeks ago with Tommy Waller on the missionary God’s Learning Channel (GLC) TV network, which strives to “help you see Yeshua (Jesus) in the Torah”, pushed the envelope into forbidden territory.
Mr. Ha’ivri is a committed Jew and Zionist who works tirelessly for his land and people. We count on people like him to uphold the physical and spiritual integrity of Eretz Yisrael. If our leaders choose to work with devout Christians, then they should be honest enough to acknowledge the problems and wise enough to use foresight, seek guidance, and draw red lines in such relationships.
If Jewish organizations and Jewish leadership in Israel and the Diaspora continue to reap the benefits of Christian support while turning a blind eye to the missionary activity directed at those sectors of the Jewish people who are most vulnerable, then something has gone terribly wrong.  It is a betrayal of everything we stand for.

Which makes the following video most interesting. Very professionally done, it was released by the PA Ministry of Tourism and it shows a place where you can get anything you want:

There is a bit of a disconnect between how “Palestine” is described in UNDP and other UN literature and how it is presented in this video. From reading the UNDP quote above, for example, you would believe that Palestinian Arabs are poor and in need of a lot of assistance from the outside.

Watching the video, one gets the opposite impression. “Palestine” is a place where businessmen and wealthy tourists do not have to compromise on their standards, where luxury is the norm:

The irony is that the video was funded by – the UNDP!

The UN has a vested interest in making the PalArab territories appear impoverished and oppressed, but it is funding a video that makes those same areas appear luxurious and trendy.

It is a bit hypocritical to claim poverty and a demand UN handouts in order to make a video that shows such apparent riches.

The UNDP does lots of impressive things – helping provide clean water, sustainable food supplies, medical infrastructure, microloans to help women in developing countries, and so on. Somehow I don’t think that helping tourism is one of their core goals. (They do discuss eco-tourism on their site to help out impoverished countries and protect their natural resources, but this is nothing like that.)

The sad fact is that giving money to Palestinian Arabs is no longer even vaguely related to their need. It is trendy, not necessary. Their money train is now running on inertia.

No more proof is needed than the Hoping Foundation benefit “for Palestinian refugee children” held in England this week, where dozens of airhead celebrities dressed up and hung out – raising hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Look at their pictures. You can just feel how much they care about “Palestine.”

Rencontrez les nouvelles figures qui font la nouvelle Egypte, à celui qui détestera le plus le voisin Israël ! Le référendum de samedi confirme la force des Frères Musulmans (1). Hosni Moubarak n’était pas un dirigeant idéal, car plongé dans la corruption, le népotisme et la répression.

Mais il avait laissé l’Egypte dans l’orbite occidentale et s’était élevé contre l’Irak de Saddam Hussein et l’Iran de Khomeini. Il a signé un traité de paix avec Israël qui dure depuis 32 ans et a survécu à 6 tentatives d’assassinat, a combattu le Hamas et il était le seul dirigeant arabe, en dehors du roi Hussein de Jordanie, à se rendre aux funérailles de Yisth’aq Rabin à Jérusalem. Son héritage dans l’histoire de l’Egypte commence à ressembler à une relique du passé.Les sondages indiquent déjà que les frères Musulmans sont capables de conquérir 30% des voix populaires, voire 40%.

Le quotidien al Ahram rapporte que des membres de la confrérie ont déjà laissé entendre qu’ils utiliseraient l’article 2 de la Constitution, pour faire progresser l’islamisation du pays, cet article disant que la “sharia’h est la source de toute législation” Saad Katatni, chef de la branche politique de la Confrérie, le “parti de la Liberté et de la Justice” (2) est un ultra conservateur.
Peu se souviennent de ses paroles “les Frères Musulmans s’opposeront à la diffusion de la télévision pendant le Ramadan”. En 2008, le Parlement avait interdit les mutilations génitales des femmes et Katatni a vilipendé Moubarak disant que “rien en Islam n’interdisait la circoncision”

Après la chute du Pharaon, son temps est venu. Un autre membre de la Confrérie est membre du Comité qui a réformé la Constitution, Sobh’i Saleh’, connu pour son soutien aux Talibans et pour sa demande d’interdire “de s’embrasser en public”, de son argumentation en faveur des mariages précoces, à 15 ans au lieu de 18 ans…

De même l’imam Qaradawi est revenu après des décennies d’exil. Avant son récent sermon de Midan al Tah’rir, son dernier sermon avait été donné après l’assassinat de Sadat, puis il fut chassé par Moubarak et il avait trouvé refuge au Qatar (3), d’où il lançait ses fatwas anti-occidentales et antisémites.

Les Frères Musulmans ont fait campagne pour remplacer la hiérarchie cléricale actuelle par des Frères de la Confrérie. Une amnistie générale a été décrétée par l’armée et des centaines de terroristes et d’islamistes ont été libérés, membres du Jihad Islamique ou d’al Qaeda, ceux qui ont assassiné Sadat en 1981. Ils ont été pardonnés et accueillis comme des héros.Le frère du N°2 d’al Qaeda, Mohamed al Zawahiri a lui aussi été libéré.

Sheikh abou al Seoud, chef historique de Gaméa’h al Islmaiya est aussi dehors, après 25 ans de prison. Rappelons que son groupe avait tué 58 touristes à Louxor, les immolant dans les Temples de Thèbes et sur les tombes des Pharaons (4).

Un grand nombre de membres du Hamas ont été libérés, ainsi que les membres du groupe Takfir oual Hijra qui avaient tué Mohamed al Zahab, autrefois ministre des Affaires Religieuses, le visant dans l’œil gauche, symbole de la “traitrise”.

Toutes les forces laïques du Caire ont demandé la révision ou la rupture des relations avec les Etats-Unis et Israël. Mohamed al Baradei, l’un des candidats à la présidence a dit qu’”Israël était la plus grande menace au Moyen Orient”.

Ce prix Nobel de la Paix a dit “Israël a signé un traité de paix avec Sadat ou Moubarak, pas avec l’Egypte”.

Rappelons que cet homme a joué un rôle important dans la couverture du programme nucléaire iranien, apaisant l’Occident.Le dirigeant de gauche du parti Karama, Hamdine Sabahi annonce déjà “la fin de la domination de l’Egypte par les Israélo-Américains”. L’”islamiste modéré” Tareq al Bishri était le président du Comité de Réforme de la Constitution, ne tarissant pas d’éloge pour feu Sheikh Ahmed Yassine, fondateur du Hamas, disant aussi “toute forme de résistance doit être déployée contre l’occupant, y compris la violence”.

Le plus grand parti de gauche “Tagammou” annonce ses principes anti-sionistes et s’oppose à toute normalisation avec l’entité sioniste. Le parti Nassérien veut résoudre la question palestinienne par l’expulsion de toutes “les forces occupantes” des terres arabes et il est opposé à l’accord de paix avec Israël.

George Ish’aq, chef du parti “Kefaya” a dit que l’accord de Camp David, “c’est de l’encre sur du papier“. Le mouvement du 6 avril demande aussi l’annulation de ces accords entre l’Egypte et Israël.

Le Front Démocratique envisage de résister à “l’expansionnisme israélien” et de soutenir la cause palestinienne. Amr Moussa, sans doute le prochain président, a été immortalisé dans une chanson populaire dans le monde arabe “J’aime Amr Moussa et hais Israël”Ousama ben Laden avait dit “Quand les gens voient un cheval puissant et un cheval faiblard, ils vont naturellement vers le cheval puissant”. En Egypte, le cheval le plus fort est aujourd’hui celui qui a le plus de ressentiment et de haine.

Darkness Over Egypt

Meet the key figures in the new Egypt–one hates Israel more than the other. Today’s referendum will test the strength of the Brotherhood.Hosni Mubarak was not an ideal leader. He was immersed in corruption, nepotism and repression, but he did put Egypt in the Western orbit against Iraq’s Saddam Hussein and Iran’s Khomeini.

He signed a thirty-year peace pact with Israel. He also, survived six assassination plots, fought Hamas and was the only Arab leader, except for Jordan’s King Hussein, to attend the funeral of Yitzhak Rabin in Jerusalem.

This historical legacy already looks like a relic of the Egyptian past. The polls estimate that the Muslim Brotherhood is able to conquer thirty percent of the popular vote. Maybe forty percent. Anonymous members of the Brotherhood who spoke to the Egyptian daily Al Ahram said that the group will advance Islamization by using Article 2 of the Constitution, that says that “Islamic Sharia is the source of legislation”.

The political head of the Brotherhood’s party, “Freedom and Justice”, is an ultra conservative named Saad Katatni. Few remember him saying that “the Muslim Brotherhood will take a stand against television programs during Ramadan”. When in 2008, the Egyptian parliament banned female genital mutilation, Katatni attacked Mubarak, saying that “nothing in Islam forbids this circumcision”.

It’s his moment now, after the fall of the “Pharaoph”. Another Brotherhood leader sits on the committee that is reforming the Constitution. He is Sobhi Saleh, known for supporting Taliban positions, such as the demand to ban kissing in public spaces. He also argued in favor of a lower age of marriage, in line with Islam: down from eighteen to fifteen years. Another gain of the Brotherhood was the return of the imam Qaradawi after decades of exile. His last sermon in Egypt had been given after Sadat’s assassination. Qaradawi was expelled by Mubarak and found refuge in Qatar, where he launched anti-semitic and anti-western fatwas.

The Brotherhood is now campaining to replace Egypt’s current clerical hierarchy with its own people. A general amnesty was just approved by the Egyptian army for hundreds of terrorists and islamists. There are members of Islamic Jihad that will benefit, that is members of the terrorist movement of al Qaeda’s number two, Ayman al Zawahiri. Their peak was the assassination of Sadat in 1981.

Zawahiri’s brother, Mohammed, was just released from prison. They were pardoned, as were two former members of the group that killed Sadat, welcomed as “heroes” by the Egyptian society. The historic leader of Gamaa al Islamiya, Sheikh Aboul Seoud, is also out, after serving twenty-five years in prison. His group killed fifty-eight tourists in Luxor – Swiss, Japanese, British and Germans – slaughtering them in the Theban temples and the tombs of the pharaohs.

A number of Hamas militants were also released. The Interior Ministry has also released former members of the Takfir wal-Hijra. They killed Mohammed al-Zahab, then Minister of Religious Heritage. He was shot in the left eye, the scarring reserved for “traitors”.

All the secular forces in Cairo are asking for a review of or a break in the relations with Israel and the United States. One of the main contenders for the presidency, Mohammed El Baradei, says that Israel is the biggest threat in the

Middle East. “Israel signed a peace treaty with Mubarak, not with Egypt”, said the Nobel Peace Prize winner, who played a large role in appeasing and covering up the Iranian nuclear program.Leftist Karama leader, Hamdeen Sabahi, proclaims the end of the “American-Israeli domination over Egypt”. The “moderate islamist” Tariq al Bishri chairs the abovementioned committee to reform the Egyptian constitution.

Praising the founder of Hamas, Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, Bishri said that, against Israel, “all forms of resistance must be deployed, including violent resistance”.

The largest leftist party, Tagammu, claims “anti-Zionist principles” and opposes “normalization with Israel”. The Nasserist Party wants to “solve the Palestinian issue through the expulsion of the occupying forces from all Arab lands” and

opposes the “normalization of relations with Israel”. Kefaya’s leader, George Ishak, said that “the Camp David agreement is only ink on paper”. The April 6 Movement also asks for the cancellation of the Camp David Accords between Israel and Egypt. The Democratic Front plans to “resist Israeli expansionism and support the Palestinian cause”.

Amr Moussa will be likely the next Egyptian president. His name is immortalized in one of the most popular Arab songs: “I love Amr Moussa and hate Israel”.

Osama bin Laden once said: “When people see a strong horse and a weak horse, by nature they will like the strong horse”.

In Egypt the strongest horse is now the one full of resentment and hatred. Its face is covered by darkness.

La “cultura” española, de nuevo del lado del islamismo radical: varios actores mienten en un vídeo de apoyo a la nueva flotilla a Gaza.

El Gran Wyoming, Willy Toledo, Alberto San Juan, el cantante (?) de Celtas Cortos, Juan Diego Botto o Hugo Silva son algunos de los representantes del autodenominado “mundo de la cultura” que han participado en un vídeo de apoyo a la nueva flotilla pro Hamás que partirá rumbo a Gaza la próxima primavera.

El vídeo lo ha lanzado rumboagaza.org, una organización creada por un grupo de activistas “de diferentes ciudades del estado español”, como dicen en su propia web, entre los que destacan dos de los españoles que participaron en la primera flotilla “solidaria” de apoyo a la organización terrorista Hamas, Laura Arau y Manuel Tapial.

Hay que recordar que esta primera flotilla “solidaria” acabó con nueve muertos al recibir los “pacifistas” con un auténtico linchamiento a los soldados israelíes que iban a detener uno de los barcos.

Las imágenes son parte de una campaña de recaudación de fondos que incluye muchas más acciones, incluyendo la visita a colegios de primaria en los que, según ha podido saber Libertad Digital, con la excusa de recoger material educativo se pide a niños de primaria dinero para la organización.

Mentiras sobre Gaza

“Asfixiados, maniatados, silenciados (…) una cárcel a cielo abierto (…) derechos humanos pisoteados cada minuto”… aunque puede parecer que están hablando de Cuba éstas son frases que nuestros representantes “culturales” dedican a Gaza, por supuesto no por el terrible régimen islamista que está implantando Hamás a sangre y fuego sino al “bloqueo ilegal por parte del Gobierno israelí”.

El video no tiene ningún reparo en utilizar mentiras varias en apoyo de sus tesis, algunas ya públicamente desmentidas incluso por los propios terroristas de Hamas.

Así, por ejemplo hacen referencia a la Operación Plomo Fundido, el ataque de Israel a finales del 2008 por el continuo lanzamiento de cohetes desde la franja, asegurando que “el 85% de los muertos eran civiles”. La realidad es que la propia Hamás reconoció que más de 700 muertos eran miembros armados de su organización. Esto es: menos de la mitad de los fallecidos eran civiles… ¡según los propios terroristas!

En otras ocasiones se distorsionan los hechos hasta hacerlos irreconocibles: se dice que la ayuda humanitaria que llevaba la primera flotilla no llegó a Gaza, pero se olvida el pequeño detalle de que fue Hamás quién se negó a recibirla.

Tras estas mentiras se anuncia que en primavera una nueva flotilla tratará de “romper el bloqueo” para “aliviar la agonía” que padecen los palestinos, “devolverles la ilusión” y “reinventar sus anhelos”.

Por último, invitan a la gente a que se “sume a la iniciativa” y se “embarque”, eso sí, sin avisarles de la grata compañía que les acompañará en la ruta.
